Pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in Serbia - 25 years of experience

The first allogeneic identical sibling donor hematopoietic stem cell transplantation at the Institute for Mother and Child Health Care of Serbia ?Dr. Vukan Cupic? (Institute) was performed in seventies last century. Almost twenty years later, transplant from haploidentical an infant suffering severe combined immunodeficiency. After several efforts, bone marrow unit opened April 1997 Institute. Over 25 years, team 360 transplantations, 175 autologous 185 (103 donor, 43 36 matched unrelated 2 cord blood 1 blood).
